He realized there was a problem with that plan. The other friend wasn't living in soul society and he didn't know how to contact her without talking to Beverly. Before meeting Rukia, Ulquiorra never thought he would ever look to someone for guidence.

Luck was on his side the next day. Tori wanted to visit Beverly and Rukia and she somehow got Teresa to take a day off from work and come with her.
